About Vattudalens Fisk
From one farm in Ströms Vattudal to a Swedish group with sites from Småland to Västerbotten.
Vattudalens Fisk AB was founded in 2009 in Strömsund Municipality, Jämtland, by three co-owners. The company farms rainbow trout and Arctic char in open net pens in Ströms Vattudal, a regulated hydropower reservoir with cold, nutrient-poor water.
Over the years the business has grown. In February 2022 the company received a permit to continue farming in Ströms Vattudal for another 15 years, securing work for some 20 local employees. The same year it acquired Bårtnans Fjällvattenfisk in Jämtland and Överumans Fisk in Västerbotten. In 2024 Vattudalens Fisk became a part-owner of Guldhaven Pelagiska in Kalix.
Today the group has 15 active sites from southern Småland to Västerbotten, with a combined permit to farm around 8,000 tonnes of fish. Vattudalens Fisk is part of the Norwegian Egersund Group.

New 15-year permit for Ströms Vattudal. Acquisition of Bårtnans Fjällvattenfisk (February) and Överumans Fisk (September).

Vattudalens Fisk becomes a part-owner of Guldhaven Pelagiska in Kalix.
- 2026
Five sites receive ASC certification: Lurö, Linjeviken and Postviken in January, Kaskeluokt and Luspholmen in August.
