Vattudalens Fisk acquires Överumans Fisk

On 3 September 2022, Vattudalens Fisk AB signed an agreement to acquire all shares in Överumans Fisk AB from Saaremere Kala AS. The transaction was scheduled to be completed at the end of September, subject to certain conditions being met. Upon completion, Överumans Fisk becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of Vattudalens Fisk.

About Överumans Fisk

Founded in 1995, Överumans Fisk is one of the larger companies in Sweden farming and harvesting Swedish rainbow trout. The company also produces roe for consumption. The operations consist of five sites, two land-based and three in lakes, plus a processing plant, all in Västerbotten County.

After the acquisition it is Sweden’s largest fish farming company, with major synergies in both fry production and feed manufacturing. By combining the companies’ expertise we can create the most environmentally friendly fish farming in Sweden. The acquisition also brings new growth and new jobs to Storuman.

The acquisition doubles production volumes and provides the financial strength needed to eventually invest in a processing plant of its own in Sweden. The entire value chain could then become domestic, from broodfish and roe to harvested and packed fish.

Överumans Fisk will continue to operate as before, with the same company and contact details.
