Three sites ASC certified
Lurö in Lidköping Municipality and Linjeviken and Postviken in Strömsund Municipality were certified to ASC for rainbow trout farming on 23 January 2026.

On 23 January 2026, Vattudalens Fisk AB was certified to ASC (Aquaculture Stewardship Council) for rainbow trout farming at three of the company’s sites: Lurö in Lidköping Municipality and Linjeviken and Postviken in Strömsund Municipality. The certification is an important step in the company’s long-term work towards more sustainable, responsible and transparent food production.
ASC is one of the world’s most recognised sustainability standards for aquaculture. Among other things, it requires low environmental impact, protection of the surrounding aquatic environment, good fish welfare, responsible use of feed, social responsibility and full traceability throughout the production chain.
We care about how the fish are doing, about the water we use and about what we leave behind. Many people have contributed knowledge, responsibility and commitment over a long time. We have worked on sustainability for a long time and with clear purpose, not as a project but as a natural part of everyday work. The ASC certification is a fine recognition of that work.
— Iivari Valli, CEO, Vattudalens Fisk AB
Vattudalens Fisk farms rainbow trout from southern Småland to northern Västerbotten. The geography, the seasons and the natural conditions result in slower growth, which contributes to good fish health, high quality and efficient use of resources. With control over the entire value chain, from egg to packaged product, the company can ensure traceability and consistent sustainability work at every stage.
The certification covers
- Lurö, Lidköping Municipality
- Linjeviken, Strömsund Municipality
- Postviken, Strömsund Municipality
